As well as being a director of SBO Mark also runs a Dental Marketing company specialising in helping dental practices market online using the social networks

Mark qualified as a technician in 1987, since then he has worked exclusively in the quality private sector. After qualifying he worked alongside one of London’s foremost Dental Surgeons and gained invaluable experience in communication of colour and morphology, achieving this by close cooperation between surgeon, technician and patient.

He joined Stocking Beer & Oborn in 1991 as a manager of the Ceramic department and in 1997 was offered a partnership. Since then his experience has widened further by contact with a wide variety of surgeons and styles, by also being a member of the Harley Technicians Study Club he has been able to apply a wide resource of technical skills to the everyday production case.

As implantology becomes more popular Mark is being asked to lecture at a number of Implant foundation (Frialit 2 Foundation courses 6 to date) and year courses (J Ucer Year Course) on the technical issues and problems associated with implants, with special regard to the aesthetic smile design implications of restoring implants.

He has studied the theory of ceramics at length and has written articles (Dental Technologies July 2001 – The Reality of Vitality) on achieving the best from ceramics using knowledge gained whilst visiting furnace manufacturers (Dekema – Freilesing Jan 2001) and ceramic companies (Degussa, Ducera 1999 and 2001)Mark has recently become a Licentiate of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologists and is a Registered Dental Techncian. He also has a particular interest in presenting and lecturing on any subject, but particularly on Aesthetic Dentistry.

To further his business skills Mark studies for and gained a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) through the Open University, this has proved invaluable in the continuing success of SBO. As part of this qualification, he has completed courses in:
